August Jobs Report Disappointing only 96,000 jobs added

According to the Friday, August 7th, 2012 report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, total nonfarm employment increased by 96,000 jobs.   The unemployment rate edged down from 8.3% to 8.1%.    The number of jobs added would have to be considered a disappointment, especially considering that ADP, the countries top payroll processor had indicated a higher figure earlier in the week.

The Bureau further indicated that employment increased in food services and drinking places, in professional and technical services, and in health care.
