According to the Friday, August 3rd 8:30 A.M. release by the bureau of labor statistics, total non farm employment rose by 163,000 jobs in July and the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 8.3%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.
The bureau further reported that employment rose in professional and business services, food services and drinking places, and manufacturing.
The bureau reported that both the number of unemployed persons, 12.8 Million and the unemployment rate, 8.3% were essentially unchanged in July. Both indicators have shown little movement in 2012.
Broken down by ethnic groups, the unemployment rate for Hispanics is 10.3%, adult men is 7.7%, adult women, 7.5%, whites, 7.4%, blacks, 14.1%, and Asians, 6.2%, all have shown little movement throughout the year.
These increases are expected to continue. As the economy expands, increases are also anticipated on a quarterly basis.
