The FridayAugust 24th, BLS issued the results of the January 2012 displaced worker survey.
Highlights of the Survey include:
– 40% of long tenured displaced workers from the 2009 to 2011 period cited insufficient work as the reason for their displacement. 31% cited that their plant closed or moved as another reason for their displacement.
– 1 in 5 long term displaced workers were in Manufacturing
– 46% of the displaced workers who obtained similar jobs, had salaries that were equal or greater than at the job they lost.
