According to the Friday, April 20th report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Regional and State unemployment rates were little changed in March 2012. Thirty states recorded unemployment rate decreases, 8 states posted rate increases, and 12 states and the District of Columbia posted no change, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.”
49 States and the District of Columbia reported unemployment rate decreases from one year ago, while only the State of New York experienced an increase.
The national jobless rate was little change from February at 8.2%, but was a .7% point lower than in March 2011.
The 3 states that experienced the largest month to month increase in employment were New York, California and Arizona.
