According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday, July 20th, 2012, 10:00 A.M. report, regional and state unemployment rates were little changed in June.
Further, per the bureau, 11 states and the District of Columbia reported unemployment rate decreases, while 27 states reported unemployment rate increases. 12 states reported no change. Forty seven states and the District of Columbia reported unemployment rate decreases from a year earlier. Only three states reported unemployment rate increases from the previous year.
The national unemployment rate of 8.2% was unchanged from May, but .9% rate lower than in June 2011. The bureau also reported that in June of this year, non farm employment increased in 29 states and the district of columbia and decreased in 21 states.
