Mitt Romney’s new budget plan calls for significant further tax cuts, and beyond the Bush Tax cuts. Will there be enough Tax loopholes to eliminate to pay for the tax rate cuts?
It must be considered at least a serious concern that the candidate is not listing at least some of the main tax loopholes he would eliminate to pay for the tax cuts. This is the candidate’s own proposal. While Romney is not expected to fully itemize what loopholes he would eliminate, he is expected to list a lot of the main ones he would target. Since this is his plan, certainly he would have taken a close enough look at the loopholes available to be able to offer them up.
It is expected that candidates will not indicate what loopholes they want to eliminate as they are acutely aware of the extremely powerful constituencies that represent them.
