Will the politicians reach an agreement on the fiscal cliff? There will certainly be a significantly better chance they will reach an agreement after the elections than before the elections.
In addition, if Obama wins, the president will not be running for re-election, which means that the Republicans will not have him as a target to work against. If Romney wins the election then it will much easier to reach an agreement on the fiscal cliff because there will be no political agendas pitted against each other. Not only will an agreement be reached much more easily, there will be short discussions prior to an agreement and other than issues with the Senate, little debate.
