According to the 8:30 A.M. (EDT) November 1st report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, productivity increased 1.9% in the non farm sector in the 3rd Quarter of 2012.
The bureau reported that the increases reflected a 3.2% increase in output and 1.3% in hours worked. From the 3rd Quarter 2011 to the 3rd Quarter 2012, productivity increased 1.5% as output and hours worked increased 3.3% and 1.8%. In a downward trend, Manufacturing productivity decreased .4% in the third Quarter of 2012. Output and hours worked decreased .6% and .2%. Productivity decreased .7% in the durable goods sector and .1% in the non durable goods sector. However, in the last 4 total quarters, manufacturing
